Tutorials

The organizing committee is happy to announce that there will be 3 tutorials (offered in parallel) on Tuesday September 30th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m as part of NAPS 2008. Anyone registered for NAPS is encouraged to attend one of these tutorials. A small fee of $5, for conference attendees, will apply to participate in the tutorials. In the event that a tutorial does not have at least 10 people registered in it before Monday Sept. 29th it will be canceled and a refund will be issued to anyone who had already registered for that particular tutorial. If you register for a tutorial and then do not attend, for any reason, no refund will be issued.

If you are not attending NAPS'08 but would like to attend one of the tutorials please contact Bill Rosehart rosehart@ucalgary.ca directly.

1. Power System Reliability Evaluation
    Instructor: Dr. Roy Billinton, University of Saskatchewan

2. Adaptive and AI Based PSS Design
    Instructor: Dr. Om Malik, University of Calgary

3. An Introduction to Nonlinear Optimization and Optimal Power Flow
    Instructor: Dr. Antony Schellenberg, University of Calgary
